Steve L. Butts

After he obtained an electrical engineering degree in 1967, Steve worked for four years as an engineer before going to law school in the fall of 1971. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1974 and has been practicing in Forest Lake, MN ever since - for nearly 40 years.

His experience includes:

  • Assisting clients in the purchase and sale of land, homes, farms, condominiums, and townhomes
  • Conservation and preservation of assets for those contemplating a long-term care residence

Honors and community

Steve is certified as a Real Property Law Specialist by the Real Property Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar.
Outside of his practice, Steve spends a lot of time with his wife of 44 years, his three children, their spouses, and his five grandchildren. Steve also enjoys snow and water skiing, and his hobbies include model railroading and muscle car restoration.
